Highbury Grove crisis centre
Highbury Grove crisis centre supports those with complex needs. This includes personality disorder, substance misuse and self-harm as well as those experiencing greater levels of crisis.

Crisis and recovery services provide a valued community alternative to hospital admission for people in crisis as well as short term transition from hospital to home.

Highbury Grove crisis centre is a flagship service and is One Housing's only crisis centre.

    Our service comprises two elements:

    • The Islington crisis house is open 24 hours a day and provides short-stay residential accommodation and support for up to two weeks, for 12 adults experiencing a mental health crisis. During this two week stay we offer one-to-one key working tailored to the customer’s needs as well as daily therapeutic group work sessions.
    • The crisis night centre is open every evening from 6.30-10.30pm, 365 days a year.

The Highbury Grove crisis centre is delivered in partnership with Islington CCG, Islington Council and Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust to ensure the service is fully embedded on the integrated crisis pathway. Highbury Grove supports customers with complex needs including personality disorder, substance misuse and self-harm as well as supporting customers experiencing greater levels of crisis and presenting with higher levels of risk and distress preventing an acute admission or facilitating an earlier discharge.

Our targets included minimising the length of stay to 14 days and to create a sustainable recovery service to reduce repeat visits.
