Batavia Road
Developer: One Housing/Citystyle
Borough: Lewisham
Total scheme cost: £28 million
Architects: RMA Architects
Contractors: Galliford Try
Acquired: December 2012
Completion: December 2015

Just a stone’s throw from the famous Goldsmiths University and bordering Fordham Park, Batavia Road was previously home to industrial buildings built in the 1980s.

Our Batavia Road development has revitalised what was a run-down, light industrial area close to the centre of New Cross.

The scheme has created 114 new homes - 101 for private sale and 13 for shared ownership – as well as commercial units for office and retail use. Three blocks, ranging from four to ten storeys, give an undulating, energetic profile to the development.

It has spectacular, uninterrupted views of the London skyline to the north which includes iconic landmarks such as The London Eye and Canary Wharf.

The development contains a highly efficient communal heat and power plant to help reduce energy bills as well as a new public café overlooking the park. The underground car park for residents includes electric vehicle charging points and secure bicycle storage.
