Yesterday we hosted a roundtable on Universal Credit in Parliament with Heidi Allen MP and stakeholders across the housing and charity sectors.
The purpose of the event was to come up with solutions to some of the problems we’re seeing first-hand and the impact Universal Credit is having on our residents . We are committed to doing all we can to support our residents through this transition and that includes doing our best to influence and effect change to government welfare policy. Heidi is a well-known Conservative MP who, along with other MPs, were able to get the government to change UC policies in last week’s budget.
Our next steps are to formulate a few clear asks which we will send to the Secretary of State, the Rt David Gauke MP which will include the names of all the organisations who participated in yesterday’s roundtable.
