One Housing supports free school meals initiative in Tower Hamlets

During the October half term, we helped support and coordinate the free schools meals initiative taking place in Tower Hamlets.
We donated £2000 to the initiative and we are delighted that our partners, the Island Network, managed to distribute over 1500 meals to local children.
The Island Network advertised through Facebook and asked all the local schools on the Isle of Dogs to text families about the free school meals. The initiative was covered in two separate stories by the East London & Docklands Advertiser.
The Island Network also successfully delivered over 12,155 food packs and meals to local elderly and vulnerable residents since the lockdown. We are delighted to have assisted their dedicated volunteers and made this possible.
