Keeping our communities safe

24 Sep 2020

We’re proud to be part of the #HardCallsSaveLives campaign, encouraging people to come forward with information about knife crime in their communities.

As a housing association with unique access to communities, we recognise that keeping your family safe is a top priority. Keeping our residents safe and our communities secure is vital to what we do in building, maintaining and managing homes. We work alongside our partners in social care, healthcare and the police to keep customers who live in our homes or use our services safe and support them to make their own choices.

If you’re concerned about knife crime in your area, there are things you can do.

We know that it can be difficult to pick up the phone. But every little bit of information is useful in the fight against knife crime. Sharing information with Crimestoppers (a charity who are independent from the police) can help to make our communities safer. Did you know:

Crimestoppers is not the police. They are an independent charity working to help communities

Everything you share is 100% anonymous

Calls are never recorded or traced and you will not be asked to reveal your name or personal details. Information from anonymous calls will be sent to the best people to deal with it, without witness statements or courts.

No information is insignificant

Your information, however small, could be the last piece of the puzzle. All information is reviewed, and where possible, acted upon, to help to stop crime.

You will be listened to

You know best when things don’t feel right in your neighbourhood. Crimestoppers will know what to do with your concerns and pass it on for you anonymously, without any judgment.

Every call is important and making the call can save the life of someone’s son or daughter. If you think you may know something about knife crime, call Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111.
