One Housing

    One Housing offers a wide range of employee benefits that include flexi-time, season ticket loans, annual leave trading and much more.


    We know that planning for the future is important to our colleagues. Our pension offer means that One Housing is a sector-leader in the contributions we make to our colleagues’ pension. All employees have access to the 4% - 4% auto enrolment scheme, where both you and we each pay 4% of your annual salary into your pension pot. Most employees can opt to pay either 3%, 4% or 5% of salary as their employee contribution rate and it will be double-matched by One Housing up to 10%.

    Buying and selling leave

    At One Housing we value flexibility and appreciate that sometimes you may require additional time off or you may prefer to receive extra cash in exchange for not taking all your leave. At specific times during the leave year you have the opportunity to buy up to five additional days’ leave, or to sell back up to three days.

    We know that getting the balance right between work and home life is a big part of supporting our colleagues’ wellbeing.

    Paid time off to volunteer

    Part of One Housing’s mission is to support our customers to live well and we each of our colleagues is entitled to two full days’ paid time away from their job to take part in our employee volunteering scheme. Called the Employee Gift Partnership there are a huge range of opportunities to volunteer with our customers and in our communities, meeting co-workers from across One Housing and making a tangible difference.

    Eye care vouchers

    We provide eye care vouchers for employees who spend most of their time working with a computer. These vouchers include the cost of a full eye examination and a pair of glasses for visual display unit (VDU) use or the same value of contribution can be used as an upgrade towards the cost of other frame ranges.


    Where possible, we operate a flexi-time system which, allows staff to work at times that suit their personal circumstances. This is granted at the managers’ discretion.

    Personal accident policy

    This provides insurance cover for all staff aged 16 to 75. The policy protects eligible employees in the unlikely event they severely harm themselves physically while carrying out their job role.

    Refer a friend

    Our colleagues love to share how much they enjoy working at One Housing with their friends. When you refer a friend to a vacancy at One Housing and they go on to get the job, you’ll receive a referral bonus of £150. Once they’ve passed their probation you’ll receive another £150. You’ll want to tell everyone you know what a great place to work One Housing is.

    Season ticket loans

    Everyone who has successfully passed their probation is able to apply for an interest-free loan from One Housing to purchase a season ticket fortyour commute. By taking advantage of the savings a season ticket offers, and spreading the payments over a number of months this benefit is great if you love to budget.

    Study leave

    Employees studying towards a qualification related to their role can request up to five days of paid study leave in a year. 

    Career breaks

    Colleagues with three years’ continuous service are given the opportunity to apply to take a break of up to one year from their employment with a guarantee of returning to employment at the end of the break. Such a break may be for a variety of reasons such as wanting to broaden your experience or get new skills by carrying out work, research or study in a particular field which will benefit both you and One Housing.
