59 new affordable homes at Thomas Road in Limehouse were officially opened on Friday 17 February.
On Friday 17 February, Jim Fitzpatrick, MP for Poplar and Limehouse, and John Gregory, Interim Chief Executive, cut the ribbon to officially open our new affordable housing development on Thomas Road in Tower Hamlets.
In his speech, Jim Fitzpatrick MP highlighted the need for strong partnerships between councils and housing associations to meet the high demand for good quality affordable homes and mentioned the development as a fantastic example of what can come out of good partnerships.
Following the speeches, Councillor Andrew Wood, Secretary of the Isle of Dogs Neighbourhood Planning Forum, joined Jim Fitzpatrick MP, John Gregory and Alan Williams, Group Director of Development, on a tour of the development, visiting two residents to hear their experiences.
John Gregory said: “This is a landmark development that shows we’re committed to remaining true to ourselves as a housing association. We funded this development with the profit from private sales of nearby luxury development, Dollar Bay. And it’s this innovative approach that allows us to support this fantastic community not just with great new homes but with a range of other services too.”
This stylish new development is the off-site affordable housing provision delivered as part of our Dollar Bay scheme, providing 64 new affordable homes for the local community.
